How To Make A Three-Legged Stool
Build a classic three-legged stool using hand tools. You'll learn laminating, shaping legs, boring angled holes with a brace and bit, and wedging joints for a solid, lasting seat.
Required Materials
For this project you will need:
Wood:
- Stool Seat: 12 ¼” (311mm) x 12 ¼” (311mm) x 1 ⅜” (35mm) — shaped for a finish size of 12” (305mm). You can make this up from a different combination of pieces. Paul uses 4 pieces for the top in this course
- Leg (x3): 13” (330mm) x 1 ⅝” (41mm) x 1 ⅝” (41mm) before shaping
- Thin scrap of wood more than half your stool seat diameter
- Scraps to make wedges from
