Cutting The Spoon Profile
Use a coping saw to cut the outline of the spoon, but do not cut into the line; always stay on the outside as you will need it later as a reference to work to. Also, make sure the blade is fitted for a push cut, and you can change the orientation of the blade as needed by loosening the handle and turning the widget on both ends. Beware that these thin coping saw blades get very hot when cutting!
Alternatively, you can use the stop cut method as done when cutting the spatula profile. This is a practical way of removing a lot of wood quickly by splitting along the grain.
