Laying Out The Shape

Print out the template for the spoon below (PDF) at 100% or ‘Actual Size’ and cut out both the outline of the spoon and the bowl. Draw a straight line along the middle of your blank and place the template on top, using the pencil line to align the two. Carefully trace around the template onto your blank and do the same with the bowl.

If you don’t have access to a printer, you can make a template using a piece of cardboard box and freehanding the shape of the spoon. The template only needs to be of half a spoon as you can flip over for the other side to ensure a symmetrical shape.
