Creating the First Knifewall
You are now ready to cut down the first wall of the housing. The second wall is only marked once the first one is fully cut to depth. The reason for doing it this way is to ensure a tight fit.
On one of the pencil lines, use your square and a newly sharpened knife to mark a definitive knifewall across the whole width of your piece. Remember to place your square so that you’re cutting on the waste side of the line. Go lightly at first and then a little deeper once the cut is established. Then extend the knifewall up to the gauge line on both sides.
