Fitting And Assembling The Tenon
As when fitting any tenon, secure your workpiece in the vise and pare down the cheeks to create a level surface, working from both sides and testing periodically to avoid taking too much off. You can use a router at this stage if you want to ensure a perfectly parallel surface to the outside face.

Match up the tenon with the corresponding mortise and use the chisel hammer to help seat the joint. If you are making more than one joint, it is always good practice to number them to avoid any mixup.
