Checking For Square

Leave the box in the vice while the glue is drying. Check the measurements from corner to corner to check you are square. If you are, both measurements should be the same, but if not, release pressure from the vice and tap the long side with a chisel hammer until both lengths are equal. Then set aside for the glue to set.

Note: if using clamps, the method is the same; slacken the clamps and tap the long edge to shorten a little. Then tighten the clamps again.

Measure the diagonal lengths, from corner to corner

If they are not the same, tap the box to shorten whichever diagonal is too long
